Soft Purple Microwedding at St. Pauls Episcopal Church

Photographer: Jason Hudson Photography

If 2020 was a phrase it would be, “Expect the unexpected!” In terms of the wedding industry, the whole year became a make it work moment! Brides and Grooms all over the world had to postpone their nuptials or opt for a smaller event, also known as a microwedding.

Sarah and Peter decided to postpone their original July wedding and instead hold a microwedding with just a few close guests in attendance. We tailored their original floral plan down to the most important pieces to create a small, but incredibly special day.

Sarah chose a color palette of soft purples, creams, and light greens to create a serene and sweet atmosphere. We designed her bouquet using White O'Hara garden roses, lavender roses, chocolate Queen Anne’s lace, and eryngium. A little pop of a bright mangenta carnation added a touch of whimsy!

For the ceremony, we designed 2 garden style altarpieces where the magenta carnations and White O’Hara garden roses popped against the beautiful marble altar. A matching boutonniere for Peter rounded out this intimate ceremony. Finally, we created a miniature cake topper for a miniature wedding cake that Sarah and Peter cut on Zoom with all of their friends and family! Who says Zoom weddings can’t be fabulous?
