Romantic Silk Wedding Bouquet at The Barn at Fawn Hollow

A common misconception about florists is that we only work with fresh flowers. On the contrary, we use faux flowers quite often and there’s many reasons why they might work for a client! For instance, I designed a wedding a few years ago where magnolia blooms were a must-have for the bride. Unfortunately, while magnolia blooms look beautiful on a magnolia tree, they do not survive as a cut flower! We used faux magnolias and seamlessly tied them in with real flowers to achieve the look our bride was going for.

Using faux flowers for weddings is definitely on the up and up! Faux bridal bouquets are especially becoming more popular because…

  • faux flower technology keeps getting better and better and they look more and more real!

  • faux means the bouquet will last forever. You have an eternal keepsake from your big day.

  • faux flowers can sometimes be more budget friendly than real ones. It depends on the flowers though because they are getting pricier each year!

When Courtney reached out to me, she said she had purchased all of the faux flowers she wanted in her bouquet, but she wanted me to design it. I was thrilled to take on the project! I designed a round semi-organic bouquet filled with her choices—faux peonies, cabbage roses, asters, and dollar eucalyptus. The pink + red + white color palette with a pop of navy and purple gave the bouquet dimension and it looked amazing with her lace dress.

After the wedding, Courtney sent me this lovely note and I couldn’t be more grateful to work with such amazing clients—

“I hope you have been well! Thank you again for putting together my bouquet for my wedding. I absolutely LOVED it and it was perfect…I couldn't have asked for anything prettier or better for our special day. I appreciate you and your work!” - Courtney, Bride
