Inspiration vs. Interpretation: Timeless Neutral Wedding at The Crescent Hotel

Photos: Rose of Sharon Floral

Almost no bride ever comes to me without scoping Pinterest or Instagram for wedding flower ideas. One of the key parts of any florist’s job is taking inspiration from another florist’s work and interpreting it and tailoring it to their client, venue, and design style. It’s something I really enjoy doing!

Diana envisioned a neutral, classic look for her flowers. She showed me pictures of trailing green foliage and lush white hydrangeas; I was so excited to put the Rose of Sharon spin on it for her wedding at The Crescent Hotel! For the bouquet, roses were the star! We used white standard roses and spray roses and wrapped them in fresh variegated pittosporum.

The reception featured trailing Italian Ruscus down the lengths of each table, accented by tall arrangements filled with white hydrangeas, white roses, and spray roses with lush foliage peeking out in-between. For height contrast, we surrounded 3 floating votives with even more Ruscus and pittosporum.

What do you think? Did we nail the interpretation? Take a look at our images below!
