Organic Styled Bridal Shoot at White River Landing
Photographer: Summersett Photography
What Is A Styled Shoot?
“A styled shoot is simply a collaborative effort of multiple creatives who put their talents and resources together to create a stunning visual concept to be photographed.”* I often get inquiries from photographers, event coordinators, or event venues asking for a florist to collaborate on styled (photo)shoots.
Sometimes there is a vision for these shoots and other times I have total creative liberty to design whatever I want. Sometimes I’m offered compensation for materials/time and other times it’s a volunteer opportunity. I decide whether I want to participate based on my availability, the amount of material/time requested, and how I feel about the creative vision for the shoot. I enjoy these shoots because they are opportunities to flex my creative muscles as a florist, try new design styles or techniques, and work with other wedding vendors in the community.
This Styled Shoot
For this shoot, Jes of Summersett Photography, reached out to me for 2 different organic style bouquets to complement White River Landing’s modern rustic aesthetic. Although these images were shot in the winter, I wanted to created 2 seasonless pieces that could easily translate to any season. I think you’ll agree that the flowers and photos turned out beautifully!
What Did I Use?
For the first bridal bouquet, the mood was effortless beauty with a peach, white, and green color palette. I used peach roses, dark peach mums, delicate limonium, seedum, light peach spray roses, and a slew of foliages to give it a just picked from the garden look.
For the second, true romance inspired the palette of reds, pinks, and purples, white the style was more semi-organic and round in shape. I chose peach roses and Hearts garden roses (one of my favorite varieties), deep purple ranunculus, white leptospurnum, millet, Italian Ruscus, Eucalyptus and Salal for a modern romantic look. Which one is your fave? Take a look at the gorgeous images below to decide!
