Fall Decor: Edgar Allan Poe Inspired Tablescape

We don’t just specialize in Weddings her at Rose of Sharon, in fact, we’ve been designing for corporate, non-profit, and private events since we opened! This Halloween, we had the pleasure of designing an Edgar Allan Poe inspired tablescape featured in At Home in Arkansas’ October Issue!
Our dear colleague and Event and PR Maven Meredith Corning dreamed up this amazing, spooky idea. Meredith’s “concept was not a book club, but a literary circle luncheon, where guests would discuss the complete works of an author and their life in depth.” She sought to create an elevated, chic take on your typical ravens and black shrouds so she used AI to bring her vision to life. The AI visual inspiration (included below) showed lots of blacks, mixed metals, and pale color blooms juxtaposed. We were so excited she chose us to design!
The venue: A gorgeous private home. The dining space: “designed by Jessica Humerick of Citizen’s Den Interior, already featured intricately carved chairs with a hint of Tim Burton quirk and a statement zebra rug.” To complement the space, we designed a gorgeous centerpiece made up of a grouping of 3 arrangements. Each arrangement featured “wispy Plumosa fern, dried hydrangeas and yarrow with lush roses in ivory, champagne, and peach—all of which create a stark contrast against the largely black place settings.” Blood red wine filled crystal goblets and Vibrant Occasions Catering outdid themselves with a beautiful beet salad, while Velvet Crumb Cakery added the finishing touch with macabre (but delicious) petit fours.
