Vibrant Space Themed Gala at The Thaden School

We don’t just specialize in Weddings her at Rose of Sharon, in fact, we’ve been designing for corporate, non-profit, and private events since we opened! For the past 3 years, we’ve had the pleasure of designing for the Thaden School Gala which was held at the school itself. “TOTALITY” was the theme for the night, inspired by the impending eclipse. Event Manager, Laura Hammarstrom decided on a “full-on space-y color”-ful vibe.

Laura imagined a bright, otherworldly aesthetic to complement the amazing lantern planets she had planned for the ceiling-scape. To make the vision come to life, we started with moss as our base and then arranged a mix of blooms in yellow, hot pink/purple/blue, green & orange. Some of my favorite ingredients included yellow Craspedia, blue delphinium, green anthurium, orange ranunculus, and fuchsia anemones.

The vessel for each arrangement was low to the table which made the flowers look like they were growing right out of the table! Next to the bright green acrylic chargers, the flowers popped off the tables. It was the perfect way to make the guests feel like they were on a trip to another galaxy!

Finally, on-site we designed several large floral sprays to complement the colorful acrylic stands they were displayed on! We started with large painted Monstera leaves in turquoises & hot pink then we layered in orange gladiolas, purple orchids, blue delphinium, and more more moss for that “Avatar” effect. It was the perfect ending to our visit to space.
